HOW CAN WE HELP THOSE WHO ARE GRIEVING
Grieving people need someone to listen, and provide all the care, encouragement and support they can get to help them re-establish their lives.
When you are among people who are experiencing similar problems, there is a unique emotional identification that is different from the type of support that can be given to you from your family and friends.
In a support group, members are equals; this can make people feel much more comfortable opening up about their problems.
Talking to others in support groups can help reduce anxiety, improves self-esteem, and helps members’ sense of well-being overall.
The benefits of participating in support groups may include:
-
Accepting that the way you are feeling is normal;
-
Knowing you are not alone;
-
Talking openly and honestly about your feelings;
-
Re-establish your life and go on living.
